The primary purpose of cabin air filter is to help clean the air that enters into your vehicle through the ventilation system, keeping the air inside your vehicle clean and fresh. Location of this cabin filter: Passenger side of the vehicle under/behind the glove box. Tools: Screwdriver
When you change your filter (maybe variant for your model. Please see the owner’s manual or find a local mechanic for exact instructions for the particular model):
- Open the glovebox and remove the screw which is located on the right side of the glovebox connecting the dampener arm.
- Pull the arm free form the glovebox.
- Press inward on the sides of the glovebox to disengage the stops.
- Pull the filter frame straight out from the housing.
- Remove the old filter from the frame.
- Install the new filter in the frame. Be sure it is securely tucked under all the retaining tabs on the top of the frame.
- Slide the frame back into the housing.
- Close a little the glovebox and re-attach the dampener arm.
- Re-install the screw that secures the dampener arm to the glovebox and then completely close the glovebox.
