The primary purpose of cabin air filter is to help clean the air that enters into your vehicle through the ventilation system, keeping the air inside your vehicle clean and fresh.
Location of this cabin filter: Passenger side of the vehicle behind the glove box behind the in the evaporator assembly. Tools: None.
When you change your filter (maybe variant for your model. Please see the owner’s manual or find a local mechanic for exact instructions for the particular model):
- Open the hood and look for the cabin filter housing cover on the passenger side of the vehicle.
- It may be secured in one of two ways: (1) with three rotary clips located on the cover or (2) with a single Phillips-head screw. If your vehicle has the 3 rotary clips, twist those unlocked. If your vehicle has a Phillips-head screw, use the screwdriver to remove the screw.
- Once you have removed the screw or rotary clips securing the housing, remove it by pulling it toward the front of the vehicle.
- Remove the old filter out of the housing.
- Insert the new filter into the housing
- Install remove parts by reversing the removal procedure and it’s done.
