    FreshenOPT F-1012 / F-1012C

The primary purpose of cabin air filter is to help clean the air that enters into your vehicle through the ventilation system, keeping the air inside your vehicle clean and fresh.

Location of this cabin filter: passenger side of the vehicle in front of the windshield under the cowl vent screen in the air intake Tools: Phillips-head screwdriver.

When you change your filter (maybe variant for your model. Please see the owner’s manual or find a local mechanic for exact instructions for the particular model):

      1. Open the hood and pull back the weather-stripping, located between the strut mount and the cowling, starting at the passenger side and stopping at about the half point.
      2. The filter housing cover is located in front of the windshield, forward of the passenger-side cowling. There are two different ways the cowl can be secured depending on the vehicle.
        • If you see four screws securing the cowl, use a Phillips-head screwdriver and remove the four Phillips-head screws that secure the filter housing cover to the cowling. Remove the cowling and skip directly to step (3).
        • If no screws are present you can just simply lift up the passenger side cowl enough to see the cabin filter housing and you would skip directly to step (4).
      3. Pull the cover toward the front of the vehicle to remove it.
      4. Unlatch left and right clips at the front edge of the filter frame.
      5. Pull your old filter and the frame out of the housing together.
      6. Insert your new cabin air filter into the frame.
      7. Install remove parts by reversing the removal procedure.
      8. Swing the glovebox back into position.
