The primary purpose of cabin air filter is to help clean the air that enters into your vehicle through the ventilation system, keeping the air inside your vehicle clean and fresh. Location of this cabin filter: Behind the glove box. Tools: Pillips-head screwdriver required for some models.

When you change your filter (maybe variant for your model):

    1. Open the glove box. Once the glove box is open, if you see a rod connected to the glove box on the right side of the glove box, (this is called the dampener rod), remove the arm by slightly closing the glove box while pulling the arm slightly forward and off the shaft it is hooked to.
    2. Turn the fasteners on either end of the inside of the glove box counterclockwise.
    3. Swing down the glove box slowly.
    4. You should see the cabin filter location. Unclip the tabs on each side of the cabin air filter housing.
    5. Before the old filter is removed, take notice of the older filter's direction.
    6. Pull out the old cabin air filter and clean up the cabin if there's dust and leaves inside.
    7. Slide the new filter in with flow arrow oriented in same direction as old filter.
    8. Pick up the glove box and swing it upward on the bottom hinge like you are closing it and partially close it until the stops on each side of the glove box re-engage. And then re-install the damper by sliding it back on the shaft on the glove box.

For models that require a screwdriver:

      1. Open the glove box, and remove the three screws securing the top of the glove box.
      2. Close the glove box and remove the three screws securing the bottom of the glove box.
      3. Gently pull outward on the glove box assembly until you release the three clips that secure it. One clip on the left side and the other two on the right side.
      4. Put the assembly aside.
      5. You should see the cabin filter location. Unclip the tabs on each side of the cabin air filter housing.
      6. Before the old filter is removed, take notice of the older filter's direction.
      7. Pull out the old cabin air filter and clean up the cabin if there's dust and leaves inside.
      8. Slide the new filter in with flow arrow oriented in same direction as old filter.
      9. Close the filter housing by securing the latches.
      10. Re-install the clips and the screws.
